Mr Jonathon O'Keeffe RANP, FFNMRCSI​ (Treasurer). Jonathon is currently both a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Prescriber in Gerontology currently practising in St Vincent’s University Hospital (SVUH), Dublin. He completed his initial training including an MSc in Gerontological Nursing in St James’ Hospital and Trinity College Dublin. Following this, he worked in the Private Nursing Home (NH) Sector in Nursing Management before undertaking a brief spell in Acute Medicine in SVUH. He was appointed to his current post in 2019 following additional training in Advanced Nursing Practise in UCD where he is also an Adjunct Lecturer. Jonathon also teaches in the Private NH Sector in the areas of Medication Management and Dementia Care. He is the local clinical lead for all Nursing Home patients admitted to SVUH and is a strong advocate in the areas of Person-Centred Care / Advanced Care Planning / Medication Rationalisation. He has been involved in numerous audit and research projects at both local and national level including the National Frailty Education Programme and the development of the recently launched National Transfer Document for NH Residents when transferring to the acute hospital setting. He is currently a member of the local Covid Response Team for SVUH & CHO6 and has gained extensive experience in Outbreak Management in the NH sector since the start of the Covid 19 pandemic.
