Loosehorse, the TV production company is making an exciting new series for RTÉ, co-funded by Science Foundation Ireland, called Growing Old Live. It will be broadcast on RTÉ One over three consecutive nights during Science Week in mid-November - Tues 13th, Wed 14th and Thurs 15th November.
The basic idea of the programme is that it tells the story of human life, from birth to old age. Over three nights, it will cover all stages of life and the science behind getting older. It will be a mix of expert interviewees, robust scientific theories and lighthearted pre-recorded inserts.
As part of an upbeat item for the programme, the production company wishes to invite a centenarian come into studio - based in Trinity College Dublin, on Tuesday 13th November - to talk to us briefly about optimal ageing.
Ideally, we are looking for a person who is turning 100 either the week of the show or as close to the time of broadcast as possible. So anyone who might be turning 100 between now and the middle of November basically.
If you know womeone who is 100 years old or will be turning 100 soon - and who would participate in our programme - we would love to hear from you. If you want to get in touch you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01 430 8815 for more information.
