'E.gress tackles one of the more difficult aspects of ageing. Its strength is its concern with humanity rather than the disease's patholog.' -Helen O'Donoghue, IMMA
'Extremely worthwhile...Honouring the human condition' -Jon Hinchliffe, Alzheimer Society of Ireland
E.gress was produced by artist Marie Brett and musician Kevin O'Shanahan following an intensive collaboration with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, informed by the concept of absence and presence and how ambiguous loss theory relates to an experience of dementia. This multi-layered film, a portrait of living moments on life's edge, invites us to contemplate loss, love and life itself.
This closing event marks the final stage of the E.gress National Tour; a mapping of reflections, inspiration and learning gatherred along the way together with a presentation of new artwoks and responses.
