As part of The Irish Hospice Foundation's Changing Minds Programme, a suite of guidance documents to support healthcare staff working with people with dementia from all care settings, in addressing specific aspects of dementia palliative care, is under development.
As part of this suite, four guidance documents have been developed by a team of academics and clinicians led by Dr Alice Coffey, University College Cork. These documents focus on:
A.Medication and Dementia - Palliative Assessment and Management
B.Pain Assessment and Management in Dementia Palliative Care
C. Management of Hydration and Nutrition
D. Ethical Decision Making in End of Life Care for the Person with Dementia
Each guidance document is accompanied with factsheets.
We have uploaded each of the guidance and their accompanying factsheets with a consultation form here.
This is a public consultation launched on Wednesday 4th November.
The consultation will close at 5pm on Wednesday 16th November November 2015.
We hope that you (and/or your organisation) will participate in this important consultation to provide us with valuable feedback on these documents.
You will receive one further email reminder about the consultation on the 13th November.
We look forward to receiving your feedback on the templates provided and if you need to, please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org
