IGS Presidential Medal award to Prof. Rose Anne Kenny

The Irish Gerontological Society (IGS), will award its highest honour, the Presidential Medal, to Professor Rose Anne Kenny.

IGS President, Mo Flynn confirmed today (Wednesday, 20th  September 2017) that she would present the medal at the society’s 65th Annual & Scientific Meeting next week. “Prof. Kenny, the Chair of Medical Gerontology at Trinity College, is the founder of The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA), Trinity’s flagship research project in ageing. Established in 2006, TILDA is now one of the most comprehensive longitudinal studies on ageing worldwide.” 

“Prof. Kenny is also director of the newly established Mercer’s Institute for Successful Ageing at St James’s Hospital - the first purpose-built clinical research facility for ageing on these islands. I very much look forward to honouring her work at the IGS Conference in Wexford on September 29th and 30th in Wexford,” Ms Flynn added.
